Imports in reports

Follow customs figures into registers, Annex 13 and supplier ledgers.

When to use it

Review tax reports after entering the declaration, and supplier ledgers after bills, advances and payments. The reports read submitted documents; opening them posts nothing.

Check the Purchase Register

  1. Open Nepal Tax Reports → Purchase Register Book and choose the fiscal year and period.
  2. Find the supplier invoice and Pragyapan Patra No. Compare Taxable Import Value and Taxable Import VAT with the submitted declaration.
  3. Check capital imports in Capital Purchase Value and Capital Purchase VAT, rather than ordinary goods columns. PINV-1033 is a machine classified as Goods Purchase Capital.
  4. Review returns separately in the Purchase Returned Register, or use Include Returns where offered. Use Export or the report print control after checking the figures.

PINV-1030 reports customs taxable value Rs 1,79,273 and VAT Rs 23,306. The machine reports capital value Rs 3,50,438 and VAT Rs 45,557. Agent and transport bills remain local purchases. A bill awaiting its Pragyapan Patra cannot yet supply final customs figures; investigate missing bills and any “awaits its Pragyapan Patra” note before relying on register totals.

Check Annex 13

  1. Open Nepal Tax Reports → Annex 13 and select the reporting period.
  2. Check the supplier and capital category against the item’s fixed asset classification and account.
  3. Compare the machine’s customs values with the capital purchase columns before exporting.

Check both supplier currencies

  1. Open Purchases → Supplier Ledger and choose the supplier, From Date and To Date.
  2. For an overseas supplier, compare the NPR debit, credit and balance columns with the corresponding USD columns and Rate.
  3. Trace the bill at its bill rate, the payment at its bank rate and any Advance Adjustment. Print or export the ledger when it agrees with the documents.

Common mistakes

Do not expect customs value to equal the foreign supplier’s NPR invoice value. Do not claim the local agent’s VAT again as customs VAT. Do not expect the supplier’s whole ledger to be zero merely because one bill was paid: other unpaid bills and advances remain. Old foreign payment rows can have NPR amounts without foreign-currency amounts. BookPana does not perform year-end revaluation of open foreign balances.
